Nanjing – China

The exchange students from Disentis experienced life at the Nanjing Foreign Language School—something quite different from what we know. They learned about preparing medicinal remedies from natural products, calligraphy, origami, and much more. The school culture with its strict discipline, the culture in general, and the cuisine are also an exciting challenge for our students.

Windhoek – Namibia

A very different picture was presented to our students at WAP, the “Windhoek Afrikaans Private School,” which has maintained a lively exchange with Disentis for several years. Elia Deragisch tried crocodile meat, and Marlon Etter quickly learned the language Afrikaans—made easier by his Dutch roots.

Johannesburg and Cape Town – South Africa

Svenja and Madleina went to school in Johannesburg, where they were able to visit their exchange friends who had been at the Gymnasium & boarding school Kloster Disentis in March. Fabio and Andriu chose the city of Cape Town and its Westford High School, a highly regarded school that may only be attended in the locally customary and mandatory school uniform.
