Admissions

Step 1: Initial Inquiry

Begin by contacting our admissions office. This helps us understand your background and interest in GKD.

Step 2: Review Admission Requirements

Ensure you meet the eligibility criteria, including academic performance, age, and language proficiency. See Admission Requirements for full details.

Step 3: Submit Your Application

Prepare and submit the following documents:

  • Academic transcripts
  • Certificate of German B1 (or proof of enrolment in a B1 course) – Matura
  • Certificate of English CEFR B2 – A-Level
  • Passport copy
  • Recommendation letters
  • Personal statement or motivation letter

Applications are submitted by E-Mail to the admissions office.

Step 4: Attend Visiting & Information Days (VIDs)

Eligible candidates will receive a personal invitation to attend a VID hosted by GKD. This includes:

  • Campus tour
  • Individual assessment
  • Meeting with GKD representatives

Step 5: Entrance Exam / Interview

Depending on your academic background, you may be invited to complete an entrance exam or participate in an interview. Details will be provided upon invitation.

Step 6: Assessment & Admission Decision

Your application will be reviewed holistically, including:

  • Academic and personal readiness
  • Willingness to integrate and live away from home
  • Parental commitment to support your education

Successful candidates will receive an official offer of admission.

Step 7: Enrolment

To confirm your place:

  • Submit the signed acceptance form
  • Pay the enrolment deposit and initial fees
  • Begin visa application (if applicable)

1.Academic Performance

  • A minimum average score of 85% across all subjects.
  • No individual subject score should fall below 80% of the best possible mark in the applicant’s national or school grading system.
  • For applicants from alternative educational systems, specific evaluation criteria may apply.


2.School Year Completion & Age

  • Completion of at least 8 years of formal schooling.
  • Minimum age of 14–15 years at the start of the first term.
  • Exceptions may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

 

3.Language Proficiency

  • A German B1 certificate must be obtained prior to entering the program.

 

4.Personal Readiness

Demonstrated ability and willingness to:

  • Live independently in a boarding environment
  • Integrate into a multicultural community
  • Work diligently and follow school rules
  • Parental commitment to actively support the student’s education and well-being.

 

1.Academic Background

Applicants must have completed lower secondary education such as IGCSEs or equivalent qualifications with solid overall academic performance.

2.Subject Prerequisites

For Certain A-Level subjects, schools may require:

  • A solid foundation if related IGCSE subjects (e.g. good grades in Mathematics or Science for A-Level Maths, Physics, Chemistry, etc.).
  • Evidence of sufficient prior knowledge to follow the advanced curriculum.

 

3.Language Proficiency

  • English proficiency equivalent to CEFR B2.
  • Or a strong pass in IGCSE English or a comparable qualification.

 

4.Personal Readiness
Demonstrated ability and willingness to:

  • Live independently in a boarding environment
  • Integrate into a multicultural community
  • Work diligently and follow school rules
  • Parental commitment to actively support the student’s education and well-being.
